Financial Literacy Resources from the Council for Economic Education

Throughout April, we are celebrating Financial Capability Month by featuring a variety of financial education programs and resources that you can put to use in your classroom right away. The seventh of these programs is the Council for Economic Education. [embed]https://youtu.be/DJ_g0dgO9H4[/embed]The Council for Economic Education (CEE) is a leader in providing economic and financial education resources for teachers across the country. To celebrate Financial Literacy Month, CEE compiled a calendar of its own resources that is available here. In addition to these, check out the ones below:

  • 2018 Survey of the States - a biennial survey that tracks progress (or - in the case of 2018 - the lack of progress) on state education policies related to requiring personal finance instruction
  • EconEdLink - search hundreds of videos, lessons, and interactive tools on both economic and personal finance topics plus demonstrations of popular lessons and resources
  • Gen i Revolution - a free, online personal finance game for high school students in which students perform 15 missions as a secret agent assigned to solve a variety of financial problems
  • National Personal Finance Challenge - a financial literacy challenge where middle and high school students show off their understanding of personal finance topics for a chance to win prizes
  • National Standards for Financial Literacy - provides a framework for teaching personal finance in kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Never Too Young: Personal Finance for Young Learners - a personal finance program for students in grades K-5 that is designed to be offered in an after-school or out-of-school setting
  • Online Assessment Center - teachers can securely administer assessments, gain real-time data, and measure student knowledge and understanding of economic and personal finance concepts (sponsored by PWC)
  • Professional Development Webinars - hour-long evening workshops on a variety of topics such as Homelessness in Children’s Literature: Tales of Struggle and Survival (April 17th) and Cryptocurrency (May 15th)
